These terms cover your use of MemorizeCard. By signing in and using the app, you agree to them.
MemorizeCard is a flashcard study and testing tool. You create decks, add cards, and study them with a review loop that brings back anything you got wrong within the same session. You can also build timed tests from your decks or write questions from scratch. It's an actively developed, evolving personal project, provided as-is.
A MemorizeCard account is made and held by an adult. Signing in with Google requires a Google account that meets Google's own minimum age requirements for a standard account. Making a username account requires confirming that an adult, or a parent or guardian, is making it. MemorizeCard doesn't offer a separate, independent way for a child to register on their own.
MemorizeCard is welcome to be used by people of any age within a household, provided this happens under an adult's account. For example, a parent might create decks for a child to study on a shared family device. The adult who created the account is responsible for its use, including use by any other member of their household.
You sign in with your Google account, or with a username and password.
With Google, there's no separate MemorizeCard password to manage. You're responsible for keeping that Google account secure, since anyone with access to it has access to your MemorizeCard data.
With a username, you're responsible for keeping your password and your recovery code private, since anyone who has either can get into your account. Turning on two-step sign-in, under Sign-in and security, makes that much harder. If you lose both your password and your recovery code and haven't confirmed an email address, we can't get you back into the account.
Sharing your account within your own household (for example, so a child can study using decks you've created) is fine; please don't share your login with people outside your household as a way for them to avoid creating their own account.
You own whatever you create in MemorizeCard: your decks, cards, tests, and any text you write. We don't claim ownership over it. We store and display it back to you so the app can function, and we don't use it for any other purpose.
You can share a deck by creating a link. Sharing is entirely optional, and a deck is only reachable by someone you give the link to.
When you share, you choose whether people can follow your deck read-only or take their own editable copy. Some things to be clear about:
Please don't:
And when sharing a deck with someone else, don't share content that is:
Anyone you share a deck with can report it. Reports are reviewed by a person, who can remove the share, pause your ability to share, or remove it entirely for repeated violations. Removing a share doesn't delete your deck, and doesn't affect copies other people already took.
Accounts found violating these terms may be suspended or removed.
The MemorizeCard name, logo, and the design and code of the application itself belong to MemorizeCard, separate from any content you personally create within it. You're welcome to use the app; this doesn't grant you rights to our branding or underlying software.
MemorizeCard uses Google for Google sign-in, Resend to send email confirmation and password reset links for username accounts, and Web3Forms to deliver messages you send through Suggestions or Contact. Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for the practices of third-party services outside our control.
MemorizeCard is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate. This is a personal project under active development, and things may change or occasionally break.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MemorizeCard and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Manage account inside the app. We may also suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent permitted by applicable local law.
If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
