or make a username account

Creating an account with a username isn't open yet. You can sign up with Google for now.

Username

3 to 24 letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores.

Password

At least 8 characters. Not a common password, and not your username.

Email (optional)

Only used to reset your password if you forget it. You can add one later.

Next you'll get a recovery code. Save it: if you forget your password, it's how you get back in, and without an email it's the only way.

I'm an adult, or a parent or guardian is making this account.

Save your recovery code

If you forget your password, this code gets you back in. It's shown only once.

I saved my recovery code somewhere safe.

Strongly recommended: turn on two-step sign-in, so a code from your phone is needed as well as your password.

Forgot your password?

Use your recovery code, or get a reset link if your account has a confirmed email.

This also turns two-step sign-in off, and gives you a new recovery code.
